Learn-on-Line.biz provides web-based training and development programmes prepared by a group of experienced property and business professionals from Property Industry Research Ltd.  

We believe the challenges facing the property industry are greater than ever, as consumers become more knowledgeable and professionals need to become ever more innovative in their client service.  Government initiatives in the shape of new legislation and regulations, together with meeting the demands of climate change, means that rapid change is inevitable.  Keeping up to date demands training and learning time that is in short supply to practitioners earning their living. 

We are convinced that learning on line is an extremely efficient way to focus on the subjects that individual practitioners feel they need.  The material is available on demand, at a time which suits them, without the need to travel to seminars or conferences and can be revisited and refreshed regularly.  We expect this website to develop rapidly and to change both in terms of amount and type of content.

The Learn-on-Line.biz personalities are: 

Christopher Legrand, (Hon) FBEng. Managing Director of Property Industry Research Ltd qualified as a Chartered Surveyor at the age of 21 and has over 40 years experience of practitioner experience in both the residential and commercial property industry. In 1998 he was appointed Head of Professional Services at the (then) Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers (ISVA); a professional body that later merged with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) where he became Director of the Residential Faculty. He has been heavily involved in research and training. Christopher has written a number of the Learn-on-Line.biz surveying programmes with the assistance of other surveyors and practitioners.  

Hugh Dunsmore-Hardy FRSA, FNAEA. Hugh's property industry credentials come from over 40 years experience in residential agency and in 1994 he was appointed the first ever Chief Executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, a position he held for nine years. Hugh has his own property consultancy and is a board member of a long established Estate Agency franchise and a trade body for lettings’ agents.  He has been actively involved with various industry initiatives and changes, focussed around improving standards through skills and knowledge based training. 

Simon Deacon B.Sc. FRICS is a Chartered Surveyor dealing with commercial and residential properties and sole proprietor of Wheeldon & Deacon. The firm specialises in management of blocks of flats and portfolio of properties across England. Simon is a former chairman of the Essex Local Association and has sat on the General Practice Divisional Council of the RICS, a Government Advisory Committee for the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, was a founder member of the National Home Inspectors Association and is a former external examiner at Anglia Ruskin University. Simon has spoken at many CPD meetings, conferences and training days and is an advocate for Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Together with Christopher Legrand he has developed Dynamic Surveyors Software, a specialist software for surveyors and he wrote the Learn-on-Line.biz property management programme. He has also advised on many of the other programmes.

Bryan Fowler MInstLM, PGCE, MBA has been an advisor to Property Industry Research Ltd since 2002. He is an independent management consultant and researched a number of issues relating to the development of Home Information Packs and Energy Performance Certificates.  His early career was in various management roles within the Civil Service before he joined the Management Charter Initiative in 1991 as Senior Project Manager; he developed Occupational Standards for Environmental and Energy Management. Since 2002, Bryan has worked with a variety of clients including Awarding Bodies, National Training Organisations, the Military and various clients from the private and public sectors.  He has  contributed to the training of hundreds of Domestic and Commercial Energy Assessors. Bryan is also  a qualified Literacy tutor and a practitioner of e-learning.

Lisa Brice  Lisa is an experienced and highly regarded trainer, executive coach and business consultant. She specialises in working with senior executives and top teams. She is passionate about helping individuals and organisations achieve their true potential. Since 1994 she has been working with a wide range of private and public companies to provide training interventions to increase performance and profitability.  She specialises in training  residential letting agents and wrote the programme Qualifying Landlords and Tenants.  She also runs 'Horses for Courses'.
